Technical Tours

Technical tours offer attendees the opportunity to go “behind the scenes” to look at OEHS issues in the daily operation of a facility or program. These tours are led by an industrial hygienist or other safety professional. Tours are considered part of the education program, and CM points are awarded in the same manner as if a registrant were attending a session. We offer a limited number of tours during AIHA Connect, which defines the facilities selected as those featuring “best practice” OEHS standards.

All technical tours, unless otherwise noted are $60 (advance rate when purchased by 3/17/2024) and $75 (after 3/17/2024).

They accomplish this task through causal pathways research, education, and the development of platform technologies. The SRI team will show tour participants the variety of methods and equipment it uses to better understand injury causation and provide several examples of recent projects.

Researchers at the Brinkman-El Hellani Labs study how people use tobacco products to generate the evidence needed by government regulators to establish meaningful product standards that make these products less appealing to new users and support cessation or switching to reduced harm products in established users.

Brinkman Lab researchers perform tobacco product content and emissions testing, including using machine-smoking to reproduce human puffing behavior to estimate toxicant exposures. El Hellani Lab Researchers develop and employ analytical methods to quantify harmful chemicals in tobacco products and their emissions.
