AIHA is committed to removing financial barriers for students and early career professionals. Through these specialized programs, you can connect with leading minds in occupational health and safety, build career-shaping relationships, and access thousands of dollars in education and resources.

Scholarships

The AIHA Student & Early Career Sponsorship Program

Provides full sponsorship (registration fee, round-trip coach airfare, and three (3) nights of hotel accommodations) for members from the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Five (5) sponsorships are available for Student members and Early Career Professional members, respectively.  Learn more here.  Deadline February 20.

The Lawrence D. Sloan AIHF Endowed Scholarship

Provides annual funding to support AIHA Connect registration—both in-person and virtual—for student members worldwide, including those outside the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. AIHA National student members are eligible for complimentary registration to AIHA Connect. The scholarship covers only the registration fee; travel-related expenses are not included. Students from any country are encouraged to apply, and preference may be given to those who demonstrate financial need. Learn more here.  Deadline February 20.

BCSP AIHA Connect Travel Assistance Program

Supports one eligible attendee each year by covering AIHA Connect registration and three (3) hotel nights at a designated conference hotel. Eligibility requirement (must meet ONE):

  • Hold a BCSP credential and hold or be on track to earn the CIH credential, OR
  • Be enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or Occupational Safety and Health.

Volunteer During Conference

Volunteer for Virtual and Education Pop-Up Program

AIHA 2026 Student Members are invited to volunteer as Virtual Session and Education Pop-Up Moderators. In this role, you will serve as the voice of the virtual audience by asking their questions during sessions and keep education pop-up presentations on time.  In appreciation for your service, AIHA will provide complimentary full conference registration to AIHA CONNECT.

 2026 (refunded after the conference).

Eligibility Requirements: (must meet all)

  • Be an AIHA student member.
  • Attend the conference in person.
  • Complete registration for AIHA CONNECT 2026 no later than Monday, May 4.
  • Serve as a moderator for a full day, remaining in your assigned room for the full duration of your shift (day/ timeslots listed on sign up form).  
  • Bring your own device (cell phone, tablet, laptop with access to the conference mobile app).

Detailed instructions and training will be shared closer to the event.

IMPORTANT: To qualify for the complimentary registration, you must remain in your assigned room for the full duration of your shift.

Volunteer to be a PDC Monitor

Monitors assist with administering the in-person AIHA Connect Professional Development Courses (PDCs). As a monitor, you will be responsible for attendee sign-in, course announcements, and assisting the instructor as needed. In return for your assistance, AIHA will waive your PDC registration fee.

Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Please submit your request using the form below. You will receive an email confirmation of your assignment and registration code once confirmed. 

All assigned monitors must:

  • Be an active 2026 AIHA member
  • Attend the course they are monitoring in person
  • Attend an orientation session in the Speaker Ready Room on-site in the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Convention Center.
    • Saturday, May 30: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 a.m. CDT
    • Sunday, May 31: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 a.m. CDT
    • Thursday, June 4: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 a.m. CDT
       

*AIHA reserves the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment and/or instructor schedule conflict. AIHA will make decisions regarding cancellations by April 1, 2026. Unfortunately, if a course is canceled, AIHA cannot guarantee an alternate monitoring assignment.
