DEI Initiatives in Kansas City
AIHA is committed to fostering an environment supportive of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), accessibility, and belonging to all people within our membership and the broader volunteer community. AIHA seeks venues and partners with these same initiatives:
- Aramark’s goal is to increase spend with diverse-owned, local, and small businesses to 25% throughout their U.S. supply chain by 2025
- The Kansas City Convention Center is dedicated to providing an accessible and enjoyable experience to all patrons including services for those who may need auditory, visual or mobility assistance. Access to seating, elevator use, accessible parking and drop off lanes, and complimentary wheelchairs are available to those who need mobility support.
- Loews’ DEI purpose is a commitment to their team members, guests, partners, and neighbors and is upheld by three pillars:
- Strive to provide an inclusive and equitable experience for all team members, through each step of their career journey at Loews Hotel & Co.
- Promoting a culture of authenticity, belonging, and accountability where all team members, guests, and community partners feel welcome and safe.
- Developing meaningful partnerships to support under-represented communities, education institutions, and diverse suppliers.
- For more than thirty years, Loews has engaged their communities with the Loews Good Neighbor Policy. At the time, it was the hospitality industry’s first comprehensive community outreach program.
